In our first six sessions, we will introduce my leadership development framework and set the foundations for our coaching partnership.
Understanding Your Current Impact: I'll guide you through a method of seeking and processing dynamic, continuous feedback from colleagues. This provides invaluable insight into your current strengths, recognized value, and growth opportunities from the perspective of those you work with most closely.
The Power of Perception: We will explore the key concepts behind interpersonal awareness, using a well-known model to map out your self-perception against the perception of others. This activity is crucial for unlocking greater self-assurance and building confidence in handling complex team dynamics.
Articulating Your Value: You will begin to define your Personal Leadership Brand, resulting in a clear articulation of the unique value you offer, which is a core component of developing influence at every level.
Strategic Action & Focus: We will help you identify the factors and challenges that fall within your sphere of influence versus those that are outside of it. In our second six sessions we will shift from the framework to direct application and personalised coaching. These sessions are coachee-led and focus entirely on the real-time challenges, successes, and dilemmas you encounter as an aspiring leader. We will use the insights and self-awareness gained in the first sessions to navigate complex situations and embed lasting leadership behaviours.
Real-Time Challenge Resolution: Each session is an "open coaching" format where you bring your most pressing leadership stories, challenges, or decisions. We will dissect these scenarios using the self-awareness and framework tools introduced earlier, providing immediate guidance and strategies for effective resolution.
The Power of Reflective Practice: You will be encouraged to maintain a Leadership Journal between sessions. This activity is crucial for enhancing self-awareness and tracking progress, allowing you to reflect on your emotional responses, decision-making processes, and outcomes in the heat of the moment, which we will then review together.
Translating Awareness into Action: We will continuously revisit the findings from your initial assessments (like your feedback, personal brand, and values). This ensures the insights gained—such as understanding your unique Sphere of Influence or leveraging your core Personal Leadership Values—are actively used as your compass when leading teams, stakeholders, and organizational change.
Sustaining Performance: This stage is about ensuring the personal growth you've achieved is transformed into consistent, lasting performance. We will focus on techniques for sustaining new positive behaviors, adapting your leadership style to different contexts, and preparing for successful transitions into new roles with self-assurance.
Advanced Stakeholder & Team Dynamics: We will delve deeper into complex scenarios, providing personalized strategies for leading and inspiring diverse teams, navigating organisational politics, and managing challenging stakeholders effectively using your refined communication and influence skills.
